EXPERIENCE & PREPERATION

Prepared through experience. Ready to lead.

Leadership should be built on more than good intentions. My experience in industrial operations, supervision, safety, budgeting, maintenance, and problem-solving has taught me how to make informed decisions, manage completing priorities, and remain accountable for results. I have also deliberately pursued municipal education and studied Chetwynd's governance, finances, policies, and current challenges in preperation for serving as Mayor.

Leadership with Council

UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE

The Mayor serves as one member of Council while carrying additional responsibilities to provide leadership, chair Council meetings, communicate information, represent the municipality, and help Council advance the peace, order and good government of the community.

I will approach that role by arriving prepared, asking informed questions, considering professional advice from District administration, and helping council establish clear direction and make sound decisions. My responsibility will be to lead constructively, represent Chetwynd effectively, and remain accountable to residents.

Preperation also means understanding the communities actual circumstances. I attend Council meetings regularly, review meetings online, and review agendas, financial statements, bylaws, policies, and reports before forming conclusions. I believe residents deserve a Mayor to studies the information, asks questions and understands the consequences before taking a position.

Doing the homework

Experience that serves a purpose

My experience and education do not mean I will enter office believing I know everything. They mean I understand how to find reliable information, work with knowledgeable people, assess risks and costs, and make responsible decisions. That is the preparation and discipline I would bring to the Mayor's office.
